Brand: Pelvic Therapies Code: PWLA
We strongly recommend that you use this product under the guidance and direction of a health professional such as a pelvic floor physiotherapist.
The TheraWand LA is an updated version of the premium TheraWand but with gentler curves. It is elongated to allow easier insertion and use when used anally, especially useful when holding pressure on painful tight muscles. LA stands for Long Anal - descriptive of the longer, gentler curves as compared to its predecessor the premium TheraWand.
There are two release ends, one is a tapered elliptical shape and the other is elongated with 4 balls.
Each end of the TheraWand LA can be used for manual massage and trigger point (myofascial) release. This wand is designed to assist in alleviating pelvic pain by helping to release muscle tension in the pelvic floor muscles.
The TheraWand LA can be used as an intravaginal (women) or rectal (men or women) tool to assist treatment of pelvic floor muscle dysfunction.
It is also the ultimate tool for prostate massage.
The other version, which is designed for vaginal use, TheraWand V can be viewed here
A TheraWand LA will usually be one component of a multifaceted approach involving physiotherapy and relaxation techniques.
With correct use of the TheraWand LA you are able to continue your therapy at home allowing a greater sense of control over your own treatment, as well as being empowering physically and psychologically.
Benefits will be greatest when given comprehensive instruction from your health professional on how to use the TheraWand LA correctly in order to avoid injury.
Use of the wand, rectally in men and either vaginally or rectally in women**, to access myofascial trigger points in the pelvis can replicate what your physiotherapist does when performing trigger point massage or trigger point release in a therapy session.
** If using rectally DO NOT use the same wand vaginally
